The Cupbearer position was a powerful one and yet a dangerous one. But God shows Nehemiah favor by allowing his grief, concerning Jerusalem, to be seen by the king and the king granting Nehemiah's request to go and make repairs to it. Nehemiah interacted with the God of heaven and laid out his plan to the king.`
