Debut Cantaloupe - Time for the Truth

Full disclosure: I love cantaloupe and this turned out great. LUCKY. I did not correctly space these bedding plant gifts from the landlord and were overwhelmed by the pumpkins. Yield was only 5 fruit: this hefty one, 3 baseball size as seen (now softballs; 1 fell off too early and drying for seeds) plus a fairly-large one that broke off the vine so early it couldn't be identified. More seed stock.
The (ironic) issue here was hesitating to cut this one open because while I like cantaloupe, it would become a staple for a couple days to get through it all. TECHNICALLY it could have ripened a few more days ... little green on skin; fruit wonderful, very firm so perhaps at a prime I never got in groceries as I could see this probably could sit okay another week. Again, learning curve in progress. Not an intended garden item but definitely will be in the future.
