Connecting CyberPower UPS Device to Openwrt router for Windows and QNAP

Do the following to get your self up and running:

Step 1) Go here to find out what driver you need for your UPS system: https://networkupstools.org/stable-hcl.html

Step 2) Log into your Openwrt router and install the following packages: nut-driver-usbhid-ups, nut-upsc, luci-app-nut, usbutils
note: in stalling those packages, these should have automatically been installed with them: nut, nut-common, nut-server

Step 3) Plug up your ups system to the Openwrt router
3a: ssh into the router and run lsusb on the router to see if it is connected to the router and acknowledged correctly, you can also run dmesg just for further troubleshooting to see what's happening on the router when you plug and unplug the device

Step 4) Now go to services -&gt Network Ups Tool on the router web browser and setup the configurations exactly as seen in the video, or different if you want something else and can edit the QNAP upsmon file

Step 5) After configuring everything correctly, reboot the router, and then begin installing the ups slient for windows, I used this one: https://github.com/gawindx/WinNUT-Client
5a: click on releases on the right side and then click the WunNut-Setup file to download and install it, note the usbdriver it ask you to install, uncheck it if your not planning to physically connect the ups to your windows computer via usb.

Step 6) Setup the windows ups client as seen in the video, using the appropriate credentials
6a: You should see the application show that it is now connected and getting information from Openwrt about the ups system

Step 7) Now connect to your qnap server, log in using the web browser, open the control panel --> External Device -> ups -> Network Ups Slave

Step 8) Setup the ip address to the router, and it should connect and work!.
