Reburial in Ukraine - 29 members of 14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS

The reburial of 29 members of this Waffen-SS division took place in the city of Zolochiv, Lviv region, in July 2019.

The Nazis were buried with full military honors as heroes of the country, their coffins covered with the national flags of Ukraine, in the presence of soldiers of the Ukrainian army and neo-Nazis dressed up in WW2 uniforms.

The 14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS, known as the 14th SS-Volunteer Division "Galicia" prior to 1944, was a World War II military formation of Nazi Germany made up predominantly of military volunteers with a Ukrainian ethnic background from the area of Galicia.

Yaroslav Hunka, recently honored with a standing ovation in the Canadian parliament, was a member of this division.
