Comics Writers Caused Manga Sales to EXPLODE!

The American comic industry has alternated between promoting artists exclusively, to promoting writers exclusively, and neither strategy seemed to have worked. Manga dominates the sales chart, where the creator is oftentimes both the writer and the artist rolled into one. Can the American comic industry learn from this and just promote fun comics instead of picking talents to highlight?
