McCarthy is out. America First Republicans are riding high right now but will it last? The vicious attacks on the eight courageous Republicans began before the victory and amped up to the highest levels I’ve ever seen after the boot kicked the now former speaker out the door. I’m seeing a lot of folks I thought were firmly America First and principled in both the pundit crowd and among the small number of politicians wringing their hands and saying stupid things like “we have to get rid of the motion to vacate moving forward.” If nothing else, this historical moment gives you and me the best opportunity to identify exactly who you shouldn’t trust in American First and MAGA politics.
