Rep Matt Gaetz of Florida went on Timcast IRL the night before he filed his motion and hinted toward this happening. He mentioned he had no problem with a partial shutdown of the government until single subject spending bills could be passed. McCarthy becomes the first Speaker to be voted out of the office.
