Russia has successfully tested a nuclear-powered cruise missile, President Putin announced on October 5. Putin said Russia had effectively completed the development of the Burevestnik cruise missile and the Sarmat heavy ICBM. According to Putin, no one in the world in their right mind would dare to use nuclear weapons against Russia. He stressed that no enemy would survive in the event of an attack on Russia, adding there was no need for Russia to rewrite its doctrine on the actual use of nuclear weapons.
