Israel conducts a massive overnight bombardment of Gaza as Prime Minister Netanyahu says the first phase of the war is over, as most of what he calls enemy forces are destroyed. Israel is hit by a barrage of rockets fired by Hamas, fires and debris throughout the streets as the conflict enters its second day. Qatar accuses Israel of starting the conflict with several Arab states rallying in support of Palestine, while Western powers, including the US, condemn the Palestinian side for the violence.
