In-line 6 S-10: Turbo startup & testing w/problems

First startup with turbo. Testing the turbo for proper operation and find a starting issue with the engine. The ignition has a ballast bypass when starting that allows it to fire but won't remain running when not cranking! Currently running an Edelbrock 600 carburetor. The turbo is from a blown-up 6.0 Powerstroke
