Live from Gaza as conflict between militants and Israel continues

Live from the Gaza on Saturday, October 7, as militants entered Israeli territory shortly after a barrage of rockets left one person dead and at least three injured. Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack.

The leader of the Hamas military wing, Mohammed Deif, said that 5,000 rockets had been fired into Israel early Saturday to begin 'Operation Al-Aqsa Storm'.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant are conducting security assessments at the country's Defense Forces headquarters in Tel Aviv, according to Netanyahu's office.
