Jazz was born in America, but did you know it grew out of music played by enslaved Africans? New Orleans was a hotbed of musical talent thanks to the sounds and songs they brought with them across the Atlantic. Despite the shocking oppression Africans faced, their rich, resilient culture left a lasting legacy.
