Gone in 30 Seconds

One has to wonder what motivates a person to wake up one day and decide to ram their SUV into the side of a police station. If you can locate John Hargreaves, maybe he can provide some insight. He's the man who cranked up 'Welcome to the Jungle' at full blast and then plowed into the reception area at the Independence Township, New Jersey police station. Hargreaves quickly assumed the 'hands up, don't shoot' posture, fully expecting to be taken into custody by the local police, who dutifully and swiftly fulfilled his request. If they were to make a movie about this incident, it might be called 'Gone in 30 Seconds.' It's astonishing how quickly one bad decision can shatter your own future.

This incident prompts two thoughts. Firstly, we all make poor decisions that can haunt us for the rest of our lives. And secondly, there is a growing undercurrent of disrespect and outright hatred towards America's dedicated public servants in blue, who put their lives on the line every day to protect us, even when they are peacefully seated behind their desks in a rural New Jersey office.
