Israel 'at war' as Hamas militants launch surprise attack

Hamas militants entered Israeli territory in the early hours of this morning, as the group fired more than 2,000 rockets toward Israel, according to the Israeli authorities.

Israeli emergency services said the death toll in Israel was at least 22, with 545 wounded having arrived in hospitals. Palestinian media has reported four deaths in Gaza.
