Steins Gate 0 is a visual novel and a sequel to the popular game Steins Gate. It delves into alternate timelines, artificial intelligence, and the consequences of time travel.

The game begins with Rintarou Okabe, the protagonist, haunted by the trauma of failing to save Makise Kurisu in the original Steins Gate timeline. He's suffering from severe PTSD and has abandoned his mad scientist persona. He meets Maho Hiyajo and Alexis Leskinen, scientists working on AI technology called Amadeus, which can replicate a person's consciousness. Among their projects is an Amadeus version of Kurisu.

As Okabe interacts with Amadeus Kurisu, he grapples with emotional turmoil and complex ethical questions. He becomes embroiled in a mysterious organization's plot involving time travel technology and AI. Okabe, Maho, and their friends uncover a dark conspiracy to manipulate the past, leading to a potential dystopian future.

Throughout the game, players make choices that influence the narrative and lead to various endings. Okabe must reconcile his regrets, confront the consequences of time travel, and ultimately decide the fate of Amadeus Kurisu and the world.

Steins Gate 0 offers a rich and intricate storyline, exploring themes of grief, redemption, and the nature of consciousness, while maintaining the signature time-traveling intrigue of the Steins Gate series.
