Rep Rashida Tlaib In Serious Hot Water For Flying The Palestinian Flag And Refusing To Condemn Hamas After Beheading Babies and Killing Over 1k Innocent Jews: Washington — Political backlash against Detroit U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib continued to percolate Tuesday on Capitol Hill as both parties criticized the Palestinian American's response to Hamas' surprise attack on Israel over the weekend that's killed over 1,000, including 14 Americans. Tlaib, the only Palestinian American in Congress, has come under fire in part for not explicitly condemning Hamas, a Palestinian militant group, in the wake of the attack, though the Detroit Democrat has done so in response to Hamas violence in the past.

Tlaib's statement Sunday made no mention of the U.S.-designated terror group by name, saying that she grieved "the Palestinian and Israeli lives lost yesterday, today, and every day." She also criticized what she called Israel's "apartheid system that creates the suffocating, dehumanizing conditions that can lead to resistance."
