Antakya Hatay - shorts

I traveled to Antakya, Hatay in March of this year with the purpose of supporting our local DAF dealer. Seven months later, during my return visit, I was disheartened to observe that the city appears to have been forgotten in terms of its urgent need for reconstruction.

The landscape is dominated by empty spaces, devoid of the much-needed redevelopment that was anticipated. What's more concerning is that there seems to be a lack of permits for construction projects, which is hindering the city's recovery efforts.

The situation is unsettling, and it's evident that the local population is struggling to make ends meet, often resorting to makeshift solutions like living in Porto cabins. This visit has left me with a strong sense of urgency for the government and relevant authorities to address the pressing needs of Antakya and its residents, who deserve the support and attention required for a swift and effective recovery. #Turkiye #earthquake #antakya #hatay
