The Model 59 is a great pistol that has a lot of history. In 1970, it was an experimental sidearm for the US Navy Seals but it was never adopted into service. It was released to the civilian market in 1971 and it did well up until it was replaced in 1982 by the newer generation (459). It is a classic S&W pistol that helped pave the way for future generations. And, it was my Dad’s favorite handgun. Which is how I ended up with the Model 59. I hope you guys enjoy the video.
