Considering the level of hostility between Israel and Hamas, it may come as a surprise to many to learn that the Israeli government was instrumental in creating and funding Hamas — a plan devised as a means of driving a wedge between Palestinians in a strategy of “divide and conquer.” Not only that but Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu even told his Likud Party followers in 2019 that his plan was to continue funding Hamas.
