Can You Be Christian And Progressive?

With apologies to groups such as Progressive Christianity, I make the claim that Christianity is not social justice, self-improvement, or socialism. The idea behind progressivism is change, and the essentials of Christianity do not change.

Can one be politically and socially progressive and also follow the teachings of Christ in fact?

Does everything you align and agree to, does it align and agree with Scripture? If you align yourself with things that don’t agree with scripture, are you divided? Do you use scripture as the basis to test the veracity of everything else?
