"(Just Like) Starting Over," written by John Lennon, was Lennon's second and last no. 1 hit o the Billboard Hot 100 chart rising to the top position in 1980 (Whitburn, 2013). Lennon had recorded this song just before his death, which occurred on Dec 8, 1980. After he was killed by Mark David Chapman, the song rose to the #1 position and remained there for 5 weeks (Whitburn, 2013). This was one of the last songs Lennon recorded for his Lennon/Ono "Double Fantasy" LP (songfacts, 2013). "The copy of Double Fantasy that Mark Chapman asked Lennon to autograph might be the most valuable record in the world. The record, which figured in the court case, not only has Lennon's autograph but also boasts Chapman's fingerprints on the cover. In 2003, the record was sold for £525,000 [$641,150.62 in today's exchange rate] but its value has since rocketed" (songfacts, 2023); in fact, the album was placed in auction in 2020 and sold for $900,000 (goldinauctions, 2023).
