US evacuates citizens from Israel to Cyprus by sea

A US ship is standing by to evacuate Americans from the northern port of Haifa in Israel to Cyprus. US authorities have not said how many will be taken on board.

But they say space is limited and people will be allowed on, as they arrive.

Tens of thousands of US passport holders live in Israel.

Since the war began, 29 have been confirmed dead, and 15 missing.
