Billy Joel, better known as Billy Joel, born May 9, 1949 in the Bronx neighborhood of New York, is an American pianist, singer and songwriter. He started in pop music in 1973 with the album Piano Man. A talented musician, he has won no less than six Grammy Awards during his career, which has been put on hold since 1993.

According to the RIAA, his albums have sold 69.69 million units in the United States. He continues to travel the world to perform in public.
