I've been asked this question many times, and the question has to do with trust. Because I believe that ‘lack of trust’ is a major portion of the obstacle which existing between many of us.
A friend once related to me his opinion on when ‘trust is first cracked within the human’.
He believes that when a child brought up in the world of modern day ‘Christmas’ first learns that Santa Claus isn’t real, at least not in the narrative which society presents, the child’s foundational beliefs in trust begin to fracture.

What if truth dwells here? What if this is the moment a child’s belief in her reality becomes fractured by this white Christmas lie? As she learns her parents have been lying for all of her life?
The emotions of anger and hurt swell, as she stands in the school playground with her friends laughing at her childish beliefs? He wants to run away and hide within his parents arms, but freezes in uncertainty of his parent’s love.

And what if she stands firm in her belief that her parents would never lie? And attempts to create a reality in which these children have been deceived or misinformed. What then? In a world filled with hidden truths, and hurtful love, it is easy to mistrust. Ourselves, and each other.

I return to my first statement. I've been asked many times about how I can trust the people I currently choose to guide me when I have been deceived by many before them?
During my lifetime thus far, I’ve had several so called enlightened beings instructing me. Ram Dass once stated that a Guru is a way shower and points towards a direction he is currently going. He stands amongst his fellows with his finger pointed towards the horizon and says ‘there may be something over there’.

And even though I trust him, and he is pointing in the direction he is traveling, I have realized there are many paths intersecting to the top of a single mountain. And So with gratitude, I take what I take and I move on my own unique journey.

And so, when I'm asked what happens if this person whom I trust turns out to be untrue, I reply ‘the hell with it, who cares?’ Because I appreciate the lessons I learnt, and the experiences I gained. Whether I received a blessing from them or the ability to see beyond their deception, either way, I remain open in my truth.

I’ve had to take away my trust. I was once fascinated with a being called Sad Guru, Trump, and for brief moment, Deepak Chopra. But then I moved out of alignment with them, continued on my way and that’s alright.

Sometimes it takes knowing what you don’t want, to discover what you do want.
Gandhi once said “God is absolute truth, and I am relevant truth, truth is open to change. And therefore, if I'm open to truth, then I have to constantly be willing to change.”

What if you no longer resonate with your guru? Will you leave the beneficial experiences, the love and compassion, and walk away? What if it was the nature of all human beings to collect and carry all the beneficial experiences with us? What if you reached down with your trembling fingers and recovered your nuggets of gold and took them with you?

Thank you!
