Shawn Steel - The Parent Revolt

At the October 16, 2023 Republican Central Committee of Orange County meeting, attorney and CA national committeeman Shawn Steel spoke about the hundreds of spontaneous groups being formed to take back control of our local schools. Shawn’s message: if you want change in schools, the best place to start is with the school boards.

Mr. Steel talks about how tyrants throughout history have known in order to control the future, you start with the children. As a result, Leftist-controlled public schools have become indoctrination centers that sexualize our kids, teach Critical Race Theory, create dislike between races, and are distorting U.S. history so kids hate America.

Through his dry sense of humor and wit, he gave numerous examples of how the radical Left is destroying the California education system where teacher unions are legally allowed to collect money from their members and then put that money into electing gullible board members who they negotiate with to get more benefits and pay. He says we have the most corrupt election system in California and this practice should be illegal. In addition, if you are a teacher and disagree with anything the Union does, you will be scrubbed out, vilified, isolated and attacked.

He believes the path to recovery is to elect good people to the school boards. This video summaries his plan.

Short Bio: Shawn Steel is a former chair of the Republican Party of California, was voted by his colleagues to the National Executive Committee in 2018 and lead the charge that successfully recalled Governor Gray Davis in 2003. He is a frequent guest on television and the media, he teaches ethics and jurisprudence and is a trial attorney at the Steel & Eisner Law Firm. Shawn and his wife, Congresswoman Michelle Steel, 45th District, live in Seal Beach.

Parent Revolt is the biggest social movement for schools in California’s history. It is focused on recruiting and supporting strong Republican candidates to run for local education offices, including County Boards of Education, Community College Boards, High School Boards and Elementary or Unified School Boards. They give parents a voice in their children's education and believe parents matter and a quality education supportive of children is more important than supporting left-wing groups, special interests and teachers unions.
