McCarthy on Republicans dropping Jordan as Speaker nominee says the Republican Party is in a "very bad position," blames the 8 detractors who ousted him for causing the disarray with the party while noting that the next speaker nominee won't be as qualified as Jordan or Scalise for the role

"Unfortunately Jim is no longer going to be the nominee. We will have to go back to the drawing board... I've never seen this amount of damage done to just a few people for their own personalities, for their own fear of what's going through And really it's astonishing to me. We are in a very bad position as a party. One that has won the majority & one that America has entrusted us with that a simple eight people have put us in this place"
