FROM THE ARCHIVES: Iron Maiden's Dave Murray interview from 2000

In 2000, Iron Maiden was at an interesting career point, where the group had recorded its first new studio album in close to a decade with singer Bruce Dickinson and now had a lineup with 3 guitarists. That year, ticket sales were strong for the tour in support of "Brave New World," with its Madison Square Garden show selling out within 2 hours of going on-sale to the public.

I -- as an 18-year-old "journalist" -- had the pleasure of interviewing Iron Maiden guitarist Dave Murray in 2000, prior to that MSG gig by phone. While the audio quality is far from great, you will hear us talk about Iron Maiden's creative process, recording process, what Murray thought of then-current metal, future plans and plenty more. A nice and patient guy considering who he was talking to!
