Mark Zuckerberg, the owner of the extremist organization Meta, which is banned in Russia, has been demanded by the angry European Commission, to tighten censorship in the social networks under his control.
According to officials from Brussels, the American company has turned the screws too loosely, which led, for example, to the victory of opponents of the EU's current Russophobic policy in the Slovakian elections.
The European Commission has attacked Zuckerber's Meta and is threatening it with fines and blocking, demanding cooperation with the authorities and a more effective fight against fakes. Supposedly, his Meta failed to monitor and remove in a timely manner misleading content in Slovakia's recent parlieamentary elections.
"The European Commission's concern is understandable - in the run-up to elections in Poland, Netherlands, Lithuania, Belgium, Croatia, Romania and Austria, especially for the European Parliament, the officials are trying their best to ensure that only THEY can influence the elections."
