Jeffrey Henderson | STATE-OF-THE-ART Sliding Wardrobe | Specially Designed For My Beaut Girlfriend
Hi Everyone,
A little video/project and channel update. As promised in the video, my own unique projects will be available shortly, as I've been really busy here. This cool project was created for my lovely girlfriend (Donna), who wanted a spacious closet for her bedroom. I advised her to avoid the larger wardrobes that can be acquired for a grand or less, as most of them are badly constructed and simply junk these days.
As a result, I opted to take use of the free space in her room's corner while utilising as much space as possible (Length/Width/Depth). The sliding wardrobe was developed using SolidWorks as a 3D model, which is shown in the video to determine fitting and dimensions of all required parts. The large central pigeonholes/cubicles provide a considerable quantity of folded or basket storage, depending on her preference. This central component serves an important function by supporting the top shelf and prevents it from sagging under heavy loads. Furthermore, the upper shelf can be utilised for the same purpose or to store more basic household things such as bed clothes, curtains, or towels.
This centre framework also supports two big hanging places on the left and right, allowing many heavy items to be hung. The lower section of the wardrobe can be utilised to store shoes, boots, or anything else that has to be kept out of sight.
The three solid doors were cut/tidied up with a double-flute straight router cutter, and then the twelve edges were given a final pass with a shank rounding-over bit to provide a deep round radius. Following that, the doors were installed, tested, sanded, and prepared for the final stage. Additionally, the wardrobe doors were carefully painted with a light primer before being completed with a dazzling satin white water-based paint.
All of the mirror glass panels were specially cut and polished to fit the bespoke pine panel doors. Furthermore, the mirror glass panels were bonded to the doors with a strong adhesive, and the entire perimeter of each mirror recess was filled with white painter's mate to fill any minor gaps. Mirrors were discovered to be an excellent choice because they enhanced the bedroom and gave the illusion of depth. Finally, the three doors were attached and adjusted using twelve high-quality pulley wheels/guides that run on four 2m-long aluminium track rails on top and bottom.
The lit background of the sliding wardrobe is a last feature that can be changed to any colour or function with the press of a remote button.
Donna, have fun filling it up. You deserve it. Few people do these days!
Many thanks to Don at Orchard Glass (Strabane) for supplying the 18no. mirror glass panels that were custom cut to size. Excellent service at the most competitive pricing on the market.
Thank you,
Jeffrey
