Israeli Flags Unwelcome

In a provocative move, a hotel in South Africa called Cape Town Lodge decided to hoist an Israeli flag. The hoteliers soon learned the move wasn't such a great idea. In a video that has gone viral, two unidentified men are seen climbing the hotel's roof on 22 October and removing the flag.

The city of Cape Town has been a hub of pro-Palestine protests following the 7 October breakout of armed conflict between Israel and Palestine. Many in South Africa see Israel as an apartheid state that not only oppresses Palestinians, but also actively collaborated with South Africa's apartheid regime for decades before its collapse between 1990 and 1994. Israel was accused of supplying weapons and military technology to the apartheid regime, which enabled it oppress the Black masses.
