Malema: When You Are Oppressed, You Only Have One Option!

Palestinians are only doing what Mandela did - that’s the view put forward by South African opposition politician Julius Malema, who heads the Economic Freedom Fighters party. He was addressing a rally outside the Israeli embassy in Pretoria, staged in protest against Tel Aviv’s devastating bombardment of Gaza, which has resulted in over 5,000 civilian deaths, nearly half of them children’s.

Controversially, Malema also claimed that that the only option for people who have been oppressed for 75 years was to confront the enemy.

Malema is one of his country’s most vocal supporters of the Palestinian cause. He’s long been urging the South African government to sever ties with Israel over Tel Aviv’s mistreatment of the Palestinians.
