FROM THE ARCHIVES: Don Rickles (2003) interview with Darren Paltrowitz

Don Rickles was one of my favorite comedians, and a criminally-underrated actor (e.g. "Casino," "Kelly's Heroes"). When I was 21, I had the opportunity to interview him by phone in advance of an upcoming appearance at Long Island's Westbury Music Fair circa 2003. He started off the call in character then opened up a bit, showing the "nice guy" that would later me spotlighted as part of the award-winning "Mr. Warmth" documentary. It was an honor to speak with a comedy legend like that, and I am so happy I found (and digitized) the mini-cassette tape all these years later. Theme song by Steve Schiltz.
