TOPICS: RINO Republican Tom Emmer has dropped out of the race to become Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, only hours after being nominated. More than 20 Republican lawmakers, along with Donald Trump, said that they would not support him.

Emmer is the third nominee to fail to secure enough support from his own party members to lead the chamber. Earlier, nominees Steve Scalise of Louisiana and Jim Jordan of Ohio both failed to gather enough support to replace McCarthy.
