The PROBLEM with "Write What You Know"

Many writers have heard the phrase "Write what you know." This does lead a lot of people to think that you should only write what you are familiar with based on your life or lifestyle. However, I think this is incredibly stifling to a creative mind. Here is how I would change that phrase to get the creative juices flowing.
