I love the idea of drifting through the constant flow of change. I often picture myself floating down a river on a raft or inner tube. I imagine taking in the warmth of the sun and the beautiful scenery. I don’t try to drag my feet under the water to control the direction of the raft. I don’t try to turn the raft around and push it upstream. When I see a bend in the river but can’t see what’s around the corner, I take a deep breath and focus on the sun and the scenery instead of getting anxious about things I haven’t yet experienced.
