Processing is necessary for all. There's a right way to tell someone no.

We all go through various scenarios in life. It's often necessary to process through them. There are healthy ways to go about it. But when you're on the other side of it, there are times when you won't be able to navigate these waters as the person processes. The loving, righteous way to handle this is to be honest without cutting them off or telling them to just get over it and or move forward. These statements wound in these situations. It also gives Satan a foothold that has the potential for relationship-ending consequences. Aside from that, "get over it" is a hurtful phrase anyway regardless of the intent.
