Welcome to Refinery Life Australia.

The focus for the coming few Sunday mornings is the Holy Spirit, how we recognise Him, and how we should respond to Him.

The theme is “Recognising and Responding to God’s Gift of the Holy Spirit.”

Today we are talking about The Gift of the Holy Spirit.

We all like to receive gifts.

Parents enjoy receiving gifts from their children, and children enjoy receiving gifts from their parents.

Husbands enjoy receiving gifts from their wives, and wives enjoy receiving gifts from their husbands.

People enjoy receiving gifts from their friends.

Employers occasionally receive gifts gifts from their employees, and employees enjoy receiving gifts from their employers.

There are times when we give gifts to strangers, and there are times when we receive gifts from strangers.

But God is the greatest giver of gifts.

James declared in James 1:17, Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

Our Lord contrasted the good gifts of God with the ability of fallen man to give good gifts to his children, Matthew 7:11, If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

The only gifts that God bestows are good gifts.

I really want to encourage you to be diligent with your Bible study time, because God has so much more for us than we can get from just going to church once or twice a week and hearing someone else talk about the Word.

When you spend time with God, your life will change in amazing ways, because God is a Redeemer.
Theres nothing thats too hard for Him, and He can make you whole, spirit, soul and body!
