Chick Attacks Sibling

Black Skimmers are funny creatures and each one seems to have its own personality. I’ve seen adults attack other Black Skimmers for no apparent reason and others commit infanticide if a chick wanders too close to the wrong scrape. I’ve witnessed sibling rivalry before, but never like the incident I photographed on 6-15-2022. The older chick viciously attacked its sibling, picking it up and throwing it down, even sitting on it. I created a slideshow of over 400 photographs to document the event.
