Hitchcock's hidden message about the Modern Woman in The Birds

This is one of my favorite films, and I've never seen "Serious Hat" academic criticism expound on the theory presented here. While the film maintains purposeful ambiguity when it comes to theology, it's very clear the birds attacking represent nature's rebellion against the Modern Woman. Birbs may not be real, but the degenerated state of gender relations are :(
