Deshawn Stafford and Tyler Stafford were charged in the death of Ethan Liming in June 2022. Liming and the Staffords had an altercation at the playground of the "I Promise School" a charter school built by Lebron James in Akron, Ohio.

Both brothers were charged with Involuntary Manslaughter, Aggravated Assault, and Assault.

On September 23, 2023, the jury returned after days of deliberation and delivered a verdict of:
-Deshawn Stafford - Guilty Aggravated Assault
- Guilty Assault

Tyler Stafford - Guilty Assault
- Not Guilty Aggravated Assault

Involuntary Manslaughter - Hung Jury
