The Asian Games are held every four years. This year, the 2022 Asian Games are being held - the reason being, they were delayed for a year due to the pandemic. So from late September through early October, 2023 the Games will take place. And this year, they are being held in Hangzhou City, China.
The Asian Games are a big event - the second largest of its kind, just behind the Olympics. Over 40 countries are on the invitation list to compete in the games.
The fact that they are being held in Hangzhou City, China is the part that baffles me. After what the world just went through and the role that the 2019 Military World Games in Wuhan City, China played in the story that was all lived through - to hold a similar event in the same place where everything started, even after the Wuhan Games were used as a way to spread misinformation to the world is quite stunning... well, perhaps 'disheartening' is a word better-suited to describe it.
