Wisdom - Part 11
The lesson on October 29, 2023 was part 11 of the “Wisdom” study. This time Wayne spent some more time, almost 10 minutes) on reviewing what we learned from the previous lesson because he had reflected more about the connection of Wisdom to the building of her house to that of fellowship, and the calling we have in the Mystery. There is a tremendous edification from building wisdom, just like there is a tremendous blessing in our calling. The seven pillars of her building means completion and when we come to the pinnacle of the Mystery in Ephesians, we find so much of that calling is around the number seven, as well. Particularly in the Greek word “κοινωνός” Koinonia – which means fellowship. At the heart of the fellowship is something in common. God’s purposes are going to be fulfilled and around that fulfillment is fellowship, which means something in common. Our calling is stated in Eph. 3:9 which is still a secret to most Christians. In today’s lesson, we see that in Prov. 10, that these are proverbs from Solomon. In fact, Prov. 10:1-19 is from Solomon for everyone’s edification. Wayne also looks at how wisdom has seasons. If you look at scripture that contains “but I say”, you will see the world’s wisdom is very different from the Lord’s wisdom (particularly in context of the Acts period and within their calling). We looked at Romans 12:17 we see Paul explaining wisdom in it’s season that if it be possible, live peaceably among all me. There is a condition there. That condition opens up the fact that there is a time of war and a time for peace. In the end, Proverbs is a great book for parents to use to build wisdom in their household. To learn how to raise children with the appropriate wisdom that will protect their memory and hearts.
The scripture reading was from Proverbs 10:1-7 KJV “1 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother. 2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death. 3 The Lord will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked. 4 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich. 5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame. 6 Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked. 7 The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.”
