Random Rants: Five Nights At Freddy's DOMINATES Weekend Box Office!

Video game movies are really starting to hit their stride. First Sonic, Mario, and Uncharted, and now Five Nights At Freddy's is making huge waves in the box office. The critics might not like it, it might not overly scary, nor well paced, but FNAF is an unexpectedly satisfying gateway horror film for youngsters that has great character work, an actual plot, and does a good job building out an interesting lore surrounding the popular video game. The Universal/Blumhouse film is crushing the weekend box office with a $78 million expected opening weekend, and likely has already made its money back before it the weekend is done...and this is a film that dropped with a day-and-date release on Peacock streaming. Incredible.
