What’s up in the sky this October!
As the weather gets colder in the Northern Hemisphere, the Moon will cozy up with the Pleiades star cluster early in the month before moving into the neighborhood of Venus on Oct. 10. Later, the Moon will be seen with Saturn for some good telescope viewing opportunities. Toward the end of the month, October’s full moon will rise, with Jupiter as two of the brightest objects in the sky.
A “ring of fire” annular solar eclipse will pass over parts of South, Central, and North America on Oct. 14. Make sure you wear eclipse glasses or other solar viewing designed eye protection to view the event!
