It's Down To Us To Get Up

[Transitional Times Poem Collection]
We each have an important part to play in ‘addressing current issues and improving our world’, yet it is easy to mistakenly side step our part or responsibilities, by thinking that ‘everybody else’ is doing ‘what needs to be done’!! This is not yet the case, so let’s see our 'public' part and work together to build momentum and make it happen!!

This poem falls into my 'Transitional Times' poem category which contains 'a variety of Motivational and Commentary poems exploring issues of the time in Ireland and Worldwide'.

Poem Wording:-

It’s Down to Us to Get Up

God has a plan
and he needs your hands.
You willingness to see
and to stand.

Free will?!
Yes, there is a choice.
Stay quiet, or use your voice!

Seek and speak truth.
The aspects you have innately;
and were strong In your youth.

Shake off the ‘dross’
of ‘no sense’, yet our
acceptance and loss.
Dispel the myth, that it
is beyond your power.

When we choose and
Live, hour to hour,
in our love and our honour,
there is no greater power;
and combined,
we break through,
out of this bramble bower.

So, it is down to us, to get up.
Raise your head and heart
and have a good look.

Then stand and speak.
Together we turn over
a new leaf in ours and
earth’s history book.

The generations behind,
will appreciate your efforts
and their good fortune and luck.
