Hasidic ad || Trailer for the movie SCANDAL

Further in my collection of Hasidic ads... this is something completely else. It is the trailer for a DRAMATIC Hasidic play. I haven't seen the whole thing, but from the trailer, you can tell that it seems extremely dramatic, as Hasidic performances tend to be.

The story in this play is based on the popular novels by the frum (ie Orthodox) writer Yair Weinstock. Weinstock publishes gripping mysteries in Hebrew, and they are translated widely to English, and sometimes even Yiddish. Some Hasidim look at his work as too frivolous, while others devour the gripping stories.

The interesting part about these movies is that they tell stories that captivate the audience (and no doubt give some kids nightmares) while being comprised entirely of a male cast, with no female characters, and the story is action-packed, while there isn't a single weapon as far as we can tell from the trailer. If we tried to take secular action movies and santize them in the way Hasidic movies are santized, there would be no movie left. But these stories manage to be rich with the drama of relationships and all its ensuing emotions, like betrayal, loss, grief, anger, and obviously, some dramatic reveals.
