In many Christian traditions November is a time to remember loved ones who have passed. Catholics will often visit cemeteries where their loved ones are buried and try to make a special point for praying for them. Praying for the dead is not all Catholics do in November, we also try to obtain indulgences for them. Many people are under the impression that Catholics think these indulgences will get the loved one out of hell, or if applied to us, keep us from going to hell. Is an indulgence a get out of hell free card? Let me explain!
