Queen of Blood (1966)

Set in the future (1990), this film addresses the journey of an expedition sent to investigate a radio signal from an alien intelligence. Excitement mounts as the expedition's crew discovers a lone survivor from a crashed ambassadorial mission on Mars. Of course, Hollywood being what it is, the odds of that survivor being friendly and peaceful are pretty slim. The cast includes the ever-present John Saxon, Dennis Hopper, and Basil Rathbone. Anyone who asks who Rathbone is ... All I can say is 'shame on you'. SFX are pretty much what one would expect from a 60's film and are okay for the most part, apart from what passes for their base on the Moon. Watch it for the story and for some of the acting. Every time I revisit this film, I notice something new.
