PSALM 59 - FORTRESS IN THE NIGHT

Enemies prowl, their slander like knives,
Plotting in shadows, endangering lives.
Yet You, O Lord, hear my desperate cries,
Lifting me up, where salvation lies.

Fortress in the night, refuge from the fight,
Shielding with might, turning darkness to light.
To You I sing, in joyous delight,
God of steadfast love, my heart’s ultimate height.

Nations may rage, their fury ignite,
Yet in Your strength, my spirit takes flight.
Dawn's first light reveals Your oversight,
The wicked brought low, by Your pure foresight.

Their growls and roars, can't shake my core,
For with every beat, my soul asks for more.
Of Your endless love, and peace You restore,
On Your promises, my hopes will soar.

Fortress in the night, refuge from the fight,
Shielding with might, turning darkness to light.

Every morning, I'll sing of Your grace,
For in every trial, I see Your loving face.
