The Dragon spacecraft, developed and operated by the private aerospace company SpaceX, is used to transport cargo and, in some cases, astronauts to and from the ISS.

Following a successful mission to the ISS, the Dragon spacecraft detaches from the space station and re-enters Earth's atmosphere. It then deploys its parachutes and lands in the ocean, where it is recovered by a SpaceX recovery vessel or support team. This recovery process allows for the safe retrieval of any scientific experiments or cargo that the Dragon spacecraft brought back from the ISS.
